First time visiting Japan

Hello, we are planning to visit Japan this August starting from Tokyo for 2 weeks with one week land and one week on a cruise.

Questions.

1) are you able to proive recommendation itinerary for our one week land tour using JR Pass?

2) would you recommend 2 weeks land tour with JR Pass versus one week cruising?

3) we know approx hotel cost, how expensive is food cost?

4) we have heard many sight seeing sites require entrance fees, are there any travel package "passport" type, similar to JR Pass to facilitate tourists?
