Tokyo to Hakodate

Hi there,

It is possible to travel overnight from Tokyo - Aomori overnight by using Akebono express and a basic seat/bunk is covered by the JR Pass. From Aomori it is about 1.5H by limited express train to Hakodate.

You should keep in mind that there's only one train travelling between Tokyo (Ueno) and Aomori each night and places are limited. It is highly recommended to make seat reservations for this train in advance, you can do so once you arrive in Japan with your JR Pass.
