With a JR Rail Pass I would like to travel by Jr train from Shin Osaka to Nagasaki
leaving at around 7.00 a.m. What time will I arrive at Nagasaki and do I have to pay extra for any part of the journey?
I wish to return to Shin Osaka the same day.

Hi there,

Based on this itinerary, your total journey time to Nagasaki leaving Shin-Osaka at 7:15am is 273mins (4h 33m), arriving at 11:48am. This trip (normally ¥18,480) is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass.

Please note that in order to return to Shin-Osaka on the same day, you will need leave Nagasaki at 6:21pm (sample itinerary). This will get you back to Shin-Osaka at 11:25pm.
