Picking up JR Pass in Yokohama

Hello. We will be arriving in Yokohama Osanbashi Pier on the Diamond Princess cruise ship next summer. Where is the closest location to exchange the voucher for the JR Pass? I read that there is the Shin Yokohama station and the Yokohama Travel Center. Where is the Travel Center located?
During our 6 days in Tokyo, we plan to visit Hiroshima and Miyajima on days 2 and 3. We will then return to Tokyo for the remainder of our stay. Will purchasing the JR Pass be a good choice?

Hi there,

You could either exchange the JR Pass at Shin-Yokohama or Yokohama stations. Just follow the signs with Tourist Information and they will point you directly to the exchange desk. There are also signs with "Exchange your JR Pass here" so you can't miss it.

The JR Pass will offer great value when you travel to Hiroshima and you'll be able to make great savings. A normal return ticket Tokyo - Hiroshima is already over 36,000yen while the 7 day JR Pass is 29,110 yen.

Thank you for the info Daniel. Can you tell me if the Yokohama station has large lockers for our suitcases? We would like to avoid the morning commute hour and do some sightseeing in Yokohama before heading to Tokyo.

Hi Again!

Certainly! Every JR Station is equipped with lockers, ranging from small to big suitcase size. It's a great way to store your luggage for the day before traveling on.

I even found a map which displays the locations of coin-lockers within the station.
