If I purchase the Tokyo Wide Pass, can I reserve seats in advance online for both regular trains and Shinkansen?
Also, if I would like to upgrade to Green Car by paying the additional fee, can I make the reservation and pay for the upgrade online in advance?

You can book standard seats in advance online using the JR-EAST reservation site. To upgrade to a Green Car with your pass, simply visit a staffed JR ticket office (Midori-no-Madoguchi) in Japan. This can be arranged in advance as soon as you collect your physical pass, rather than having to wait until your day of travel.
