Hiroshima to Kyoto- JR Pass

Most likely the route will look as this: Use the Sakura Shinkansen from Hiroshima - Shin-Osaka, there transfer to the Hikari Shinkansen bound for Kyoto. The route takes about 122min and looks like this.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. i have a few more question for you and i'm sorry because this is the first time i'm travelling to Japan.

I'm arriving at Haneda at 10.30pm and was wondering which is the best route for me to get to Hiroshima at lowest cost and quickest time. I need to exchange for the JR pass, and I understand that the office only opens at 7.45am at Haneda airport so i do not want to waste overnight at the airport. Please help and thanks.

I am afraid that there will be no option to go to Hiroshima from Haneda with such a late arrival. Your best option would be to exchange the JR Pass early at 7.45 from Haneda Airport and use your JR Pass from there.

The route would look as follows: Travel to Tokyo station from Haneda, then use the Hikari Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka and there transfer to the Sakura Shinkansen to Hiroshima. Full route will take about 6-7 hours. The JR Pass covers the full route.
