Does the JR pass cover my itinerary

The JR Pass covers all these routes! Do keep in mind that locally, you may still need additional transport depending on where you plan to travel. Primarily within Hakone, this is the case.

The JR Pass also includes travel to and from the major airports like Haneda, Narita and Kansai.

Within Hiroshima, you can also use the tourist bus, local JR lines and the JR ferry to Miyajima for free.

For Hakone, you can use the Shinkansen to Odawara station (the gateway station for Hakone) or the JR Tokaido line. Travel on other transport within Hakone or the Romance car are not included.

If you travel on normal days, I recommend making reservations 1-2 days ahead of time. During periods of heavy travel, like national holidays, 4-5 days is better.

Pocket WiFi can connect up to 10 devices, so it should be plenty if it is the four of you together.

So what type of rail pass would we need to buy. We arrive in Japan o 26/08/25 and leave on 12/09/25?

Hi Rima,

I think the best option would be to look at a 14 day JR Pass and include all travel from Tokyo - Kanazawa to Osaka - Odawara/Hakone.

You could look at using a Suica card for the other travel.
