Could you advise which Jr. Pass please?

A 7 day JR Pass could be an interesting option if you look at ticket prices:

Tokyo - Kanazawa ¥ 14,120
Kanazawa - Tokyo ¥ 14,120

The 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110, so traveling to Kanazawa and back to Tokyo nearly pays for the pass itself. From there it would be easy to make savings if used for any additional travel. Think of local JR travel in Tokyo, to the Airport and part of the way to Fuji. I have not included Fuji as there are different approaches and areas to visit around the city, still there too the JR Pass can help you make savings.

Thank you for your info. I did wonder whether the 5 days Jr east pass would get me to Kanazawa but I don't think it would take me right from Tokyo to Kanazawa so I will get the 7 days Jr national pass now. Thank you again.

Just the confirm, the JR East pass can't be used to Kanazawa. So the 7 day JR Pass is the way to go.
