I just wondering if it would be worth getting the 7 or 14 day pass.
I will land in Narita and take the nex to Tokyo. We will be staying in Tokyo for 6 days traveling around seeing the city, then we are off to Kyoto and maybe another location for another week.
So basically is it worth having the JR pass for the first week where we will pretty much only be traveling around tokyo and using the nex once?

Hi Eric,
No, not if you will just remain around Tokyo. A JR Pass is perfect for longer distances. Think for instance a return Tokyo - Kyoto or travel to Hiroshima. So stick to normal tickets for the first week.
You can however consider a 7 day JR Pass for Kyoto and depending on what other places you wish to travel to.
