Below are my suggested itinerary.
10 Oct Osaka Kansai Airport to Kyoto
14 Oct Kyoto to Takayama
15 Oct Takayama to Osaka
Based on the above itinerary, pls advise should I get the 7 days JR pass or Daily pass? Which is more cost effective? And how much do I save? Pls advise on the cost of getting the 7 days JR pass vs Daily pass.

You would be able to cover the following tickets with the JR Pass:
Kansai Airport - Kyoto ¥ 3,280
Kyoto - Takayama ¥ 9,680
Takayama - Osaka ¥ 10,310
Which adds up to ¥ 23,270. This however would not cover the cost of a JR Pass so you may be better of buying normal tickets for now. Do remember that the JR Pass allows for unlimited travel and would quickly pay of if you made a little side trip.
