Hi,

I have booked my vacation in JApan this summer and finally have a concrete traveling plan.
I was wondering if you could advise on which rail pass to purchase.

I wil be arriving in Tokyo on the 17th of July.
17/07 - 23/07 Tokyo
23/07 - 27/07 Kyoto (with a trip to Osaka on one of the days)
27/07 back to Tokyo and 30 we fly back.

We were thinking of purchasing the 7 day pass.
Do you think it is worth it or we could do with separate tickets each time?

Hi Klimentina,

The 7 day JR Pass is worth it for your trip. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen. Now you get unlimited travel for 7 days at the same price :) Which you can use to travel on local JR lines as well, on side trips to Osaka and back to the airport.
