Hi!
I will be in Sapporo in February 2018 and from there I'd like to catch the Hokkaido Shinkansen to Tokyo. I thought I'd make the most of my trip and try to visit northern Japan. I'd like to go to Nyuto Onsen (in Akita Prefecture), would that be possible on the way from Sapporo to Tokyo?

Hi there,
Yes, that would be possible :) You can use the JR Pass and Shinkansen to travel from Hokkaido to Tohoku, then take the Shinkansen to Tazawako station. From there a bus goes to Nyuto Onsen.
The bus is around 820yen/one way and not included in the JR Pass.
