night train sunrise izumo

Your plan looks fine to me, however I am not completely sure what your question is. Do you want suggestions on what to visit in Tokyo on day 2, or how to book the night train?

hello Daniel-san...thanks before for your attention,,i'm not completely sure with my plan,especcially on 2nd day (Augt 29 2016)

• SUNDAY Aug 28 2016 JAKARTA-KLIA-TOKYO (HANEDA airport) and we'll be stayed at HANEDA until morning.
• MONDAY Aug 29 2016 TOKYO-KYOTO Our plan before leave HANEDA is (in the morning) :
  1.Exchange & activate JR PASS at JR EAST TRAVEL SERVICE at HANEDA
  2.Reserved ticket HIKARI shinkansen from TOKYO to KYOTO use JR PASS
  3.Reserved ticket nobinobi seat JR Sunrise Izumo(night train) departure on thursday Sept 1 2016 from YONAGO-TOKYO,coz we'll be back to TOKYO on Sept 1 2016 from YONAGO.

After finish all reservation and waiting for time departure to KYOTO,we plan to spend time by going to SHIBUYA area.
1.Should we reserve seat on HIKARI shinkansen for KYOTO departure or use unreserved seat ?
2.Can we reserved ticket JR Sunrise Izumo from JR EAST TRAVEL SERVICE at HANEDA ?
3.Is seat available on JR Sunrise Izumo if we booked at least H-3 from Departure ?

1.) I recommend traveling using a reserved seat, this way you are sure of seating together and makes your travel just a little more relaxed. You can make the reservations when you exchange the JR Pass or even at Shibuya station.

2.) Yes, you can do so at any JR ticket window, including Narita and Haneda Airport.

3.) This is a bit of a tricky question. Sometimes there are seats available on the day of departure, sometimes the train is sold out long in advance. The problem is that you will know once you arrive in Japan and not before. With this in mind I do recommend having a plan B ready if the train is sold out.
