Hi Daniel.
Could you please help look to my itenaries for I plan to spend 10 days during December 25-Jan 3?
12/25 Osaka Airport.
12/26 Kyoto
12/27 Kinosaki
12/28 Takayama
12/29 Hakone
12/30 Gunma (minasaki)
12/31-1/2 Tokyo
1/3 Haneda Airport

Q1. For Kinosaki to Takayama, need to return Kyoto? If so, I intend to leave luggage at station's locker.
Q2. The above to plan purchase ticket of regional Kansai pass 4 days + 5 days east pass, is more economic? While cross between region and connect is possible as well, right? Or better be unlimited 7 days JR pass? Thank much.

I'd be more than happy to have a look for you. Let's get started right away.

The route Kinosaki-Onsen --> Takayama is (almost) always via Kyoto station. So you could store your luggage there.

As for what pass to travel with, there's only one pass which would cover all your travel and that is the nation wide JR Pass. Let's have a look at ticket prices and see if the JR Pass would be helpful or if buying normal tickets is a better option.

Kansai Airport - Kyoto ¥ 3,370
Kyoto - Kinosaki Onsen ¥ 5,680
Kinosaki Onsen - Takayama ¥ 15,310
Takayama - Gunma ¥ ???
Gunma - Tokyo ¥ ???
Takayama - Tokyo ¥ 14,710

For a total of ¥ 39,070 or ¥ 9,960 in savings as the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,110. Note that I used the route Takayama - Tokyo instead of Gunma as I was unable to locate the station that you wish to visit. Gunma is mostly north of Tokyo and you traveling there would certainly help you even more savings.
