I am traveling with a group of 4. We are trying to figure out if it makes more sense to buy individual rail passes or a 7 or 14 day pass.
Our itinerary is as follows:
14-Apr Arriving in Tokyo @ NRT
18-Apr Tokyo to Fujiyoshida
19-Apr Fujiyoshida to Kyoto
23-Apr Kyoto to Tokyo
24-Apr Tokyo to NRT to fly home

Hi Michael,
For your trip you would break about even using a 7-day JR Pass when used from April 18th to 24th. I think you'll buy fine buying normal tickets though, as part of the way to Fuji would not be covered.
