We are planning to go back to Japan on Feb 7-14 covering areas of Osaka, Kobe, Awaji, Mt. Fuji and Tokyo. Is it advisable to get unlimited pass for 7 days to cover our trip? Does the shinkansen ticket can be use also for local trains?

The Nationwide JR Pass covers your itinerary except for Awaji and Mt. Fuji and offers a convenient way to travel throughout Japan, for this specific trip. However, using single train tickets might be a more cost-effective option.
