Hi there,

we will be going to Japan on 26/4 - 4/5 for about 9 days. Unfortunately forgot about Golden week and get stuck now. Below are our hotel booking so far,

26/4 - 30/4 Osaka
30/4 - 2/5 Kyoto
2/5 - 4/5 ??

Places we would like to cover during our trip are : Himeji, Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Arashiyama (may be). We still have 2 days left that don't know what to do. Few things in mind are Tateyama Alpine Route, Shirakawago and Nagoya, or Tokyo or Hiroshima. Should we buy 7 days JR pass? Any recommendation are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello there,

I can only tell you a 7 day JR Pass is useful once you have completed your itinerary. However if you make a trip to Tokyo or Hiroshima than it is easy to get good value out of the JR Pass.

All places your mention are worth visiting, let me know what you are interested in and I can give you some better recommendations!

Thanks for your reply.

We would like to do something local like to do eg going to the local market, country side etc. we love to see the beauty side of the city then just shopping and eating. We don't like anything too touristic however we will still like to cover the main one that must go. Any recommendation will be great. Thanks heaps
