When can i buy the rail pass for January? It only goes up to September

You are too early. You have to turn in your exchange order to obtain your pass, but the exchange order in only valid for 3 months from the date the exchange order was issued.

Hi there,
To be exact, a JR Pass can be exchanged up to 90 days after purchase. I would recommend going so at the start of December if you plan to use it in Januari next year.
