I wish to know:
1) Can I buy the JR Kansai Wide Area Pass and JR Hokuriku Area Pass online?
2) When buying the Pass online, do I have to indicate exact dates of when I want to activate the passes? I am not sure yet as it depends on my trip.
2) Can I get the Exchange orders in Narita Airport? This is because I will not start my usage of the pass from Kansai Airport or a city in Hokuriku Area. I will be going to visit friends in Tokyo first before going to Kansai later in the trip.
3) Does the activation date starts from the first time I use it, no matter when I get the exchange order? Is the scenario below correct?
Eg, I buy Passes online on 1 Dec 2024
I get the Exchange Pass on 15 Dec 2024
I only start to use the Pass on 20 Dec 2024.

Hi there,
Yes, both passes can be purchased on our site, under the Regional Passes tab.
No, you won't have to indicate the exact dates of when you want the passes to be activated, as when you take the exchange orders to be activated is up to you.
The exchange orders will be mailed to you first, and then you are able to take them to any major JR train station or Information Centre to be activated - this can be done at any of the locations listed on the respective sites of each pass, which can be found here for the Kansai Pass and here for the Hokuriku Pass.
When you exchange the pass, you will be asked to set an activation date, so you can set this for e.g. 20 December 2024 even if you exchange the pass earlier.
