I plan to travel to kawaguichiko station from Nagoya to see Mt Fuji and stay overnight on the 8th April 2014. If I have JR pass how do I make use of the pass to travel from Nagoya. After Mt Fuji, I plan to travel to Hiroshima, can you advise how should I travel using the JR pass.

Hi again!
The best way to get from Nagoya - Kawaguchiko is to take the Shinkansen to Mishima station, from there you can take an express bus the Kawaguchiko (bus requires a ticket).
For travel to Hiroshima, take the bus back to Mishima station, from there you can hop on the Shinkansen to Hiroshima.

Firstly let me thank you for your invaluable information of Japan to foreigners like me who are unfamiliar
with Japan.
I want to visit Kawaguchiko 5th Station to see the majestic Mt Fuji, my hotel in Kawaguchiko told me the access road to Kawaguchiko 5th Stn was damaged by snow last February and it would not be repaired in time for my visit on the 8th April. Can you advise me whether I can go to anywhere near to Mt Fuji from my hotel in Kawaguichiko town? Being able to get near the majestic Mt Fuji was my sole intention of travelling to Kawaguichiko.

Hi Chong-san,
In that case there are enough alternatives.
Think about Hakone for instance, which offers a great view of Tokyo. The area itself is also very beautiful.
Kawaguchiko is one of the Fuji 5 Lakes, you visit one of the other lakes. Lake Yamanakako is especially beautiful.

I have one more question. I am arriving Chubu Airport on 4th April at 16:20 pm and leave from Chubu from Hiroshima on the 11th April. My total trip is 8 days but I will purchase a 7 days ticket. Can you tell me when I should activate the JR Pass so that I can use it to travel from Hiroshima to Nagoya on 11th.

Hello Chong,
The pass is valid for 7 days. You could activate it on the 5th if April, this way it would be valid until the 11th and you can use it for travel from Hiroshima - Nagoya.
