I will be traveling to Japan for work and plan to spend an extra week traveling on vacation after work is done. Can I exchange my order for the pass at the airport but not activate it until a week later? Or does the exchange activate the pass and the 7 days start the day I exchange the order for the pass?

Hi there,
You can select a start date up to 30 days in the future, when you activate the JR Pass. (In other words, you don't have to start using it right away).
