Hi Team,

I am visiting Japan in Dec from 16th onwards. After research I've decided on going ahead with this list of places in this order and wanted to check the following...

Will the 14 day JR Pass be more economical?
What are the routes that the JR Pass doesn't cover and I will need to be spending extra?
What are the other JR passes that I would need to buy if required?
Land on 16th from Narita.

16-19th Dec > Tokyo
19-- 21st Dec > Hakone
21-24th Dec > Kyoto
24-26th Dec > Osaka
26-27th Dec > Koyasan
27-29th Dec > Hiroshima
29-31st Dec > Takayama
31 Dec-1st Jan > Tokyo

and fly back from Narita.

Regards
Vikas

Hi there,

Apologies for the late reply. The JR Pass will cover all your travel except for the trip to and from Hakone, where travel will only be covered up to Odawara Station. For your itinerary, it makes more sense to purchase your tickets individually but a JR Pass is still an option worth considering if you are happy to purchase the tickets between Hakone an Odawara separately, e.g. you'd be able to take Shinkansen from Tokyo to Odawara as usual but would have to change at Odawara and pay separately for a different train as they are operated by a private company. However if you are happy with doing so I would recommend purchasing your tickets individually.

Kind regards,

Alexis
