Hi Daniel,

I need some help to get from point A to point B

  1. Arrive 20/5 Tokyo Narita - planning to stay in Shinjuku. - what is the best way to get from airport to hotel?
  2. Planning to go to Kyoto 23/5 for 3 nights and looking to stay in Shijo/Kawaramachi (as recommended by you) - what is the best way to get there from Shinjuku.
  3. Want to take day trips to Nara and Osaka from Kyoto - what is the best way to get to both places?
  4. Leave Kyoto for Tokyo 25/5. - how best to get back to Shinjuku ?
    5.27/5 Depart from Haneda airport - what is the best way to get from hotel in Shinjuku to airport ?

Hi Joburger,

1.) The easiest way is to take the Narita Express directly from Narita Airport to Shinjuku station.

2.) Take a local train from Shinjuku to Tokyo or Shinagawa stations. From there take the Shinkansen to Kyoto station. Lastly, use the Kyoto subway to Kawaramachi station.

3.) The best way is to travel to Kyoto station, from there direct trains leave for Osaka and Nara.

4.) Basically the same as 2.) but in reverse. From Shinjuku - Haneda, take the JR Yamanote line to Hamamatsucho station and from there the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport. Trains are very frequent on this route, so leave anytime you want.
