I was wondering if a 7 day pass is worth it, or if I should get separate tickets. My itinerary is as follows:
1-3 of December: Tokyo
4 of December: Leave Tokyo and go to Shin Yokohama, spend the day in Kamakura and return to Shin Yokohama
5 of December: Leave Shin Yokohama to Kyoto
6 of December: stay in Kyoto
7 of December: Day trip from Kyoto to Nara returning to Kyoto
8 of December: return to Tokyo.
9 of December: Narita express

I certainly think that a 7 day JR Pass would help you make savings if you use it from day 3 through 9.
I made a little breakdown of ticket prices below to see what kind of savings you can make.
Tokyo - Shin Yokohama ¥ 2,470 (Shinkansen)
Shin Yokohama Kamakura (return) ¥ 1,080
Shin Yokohama -> Kyoto ¥ 12,390
Kyoto Nara ¥ 1,380
Kyoto -> Tokyo ¥ 12,390
Tokyo -> Narita Airport ¥ 2,740
For a total of ¥ 32,450 the 7 day ¥ 28,300 so you would be able to make at least ¥ 4,150 in savings. So it is definitely worth getting the JR Pass!

You can use the JR Pass for the local JR network in and around each of those places, please keep in mind however that other kinds of transport such as the metro are non included.
