Hi there!

I think that the JR Kanto Pass makes for a great deal here, especially since you can use it for the return Shibuya - Karuizawa, which alone would cost more otherwise. You can also use it for your other local travel in Tokyo, so you don't have to worry about other tickets.

As for Autumn leaves, I would recommend reading this guide which has a great list with the best spots to visit.

By the way, may I also know how the seat reservation works, is it for only certain train services? Am I able to reserve seats for my trip to Karuizawa ?

Hi Mandy,

You can reserve seats on Shinkansen and limited express trains, local train services such as those in Tokyo do not require seat reservations as you just hop on and off them.
