Is it worth buying a JR Pass?

I have the following itinerary and was wondering if it is worth buying a JR Pass?

April 9 - Arrive in Osaka (Kansai airport)
April 10 - Day trip to Nara from Osaka
April 11 - Osaka ( might go to Kyoto for 1/2 day)
April 12 - Osaka to Kyoto
April 13 - Kyoto
April 14 - Kyoto to Tokyo
April 15 - Tokyo
April 16 - Tokyo to Mt. Fuji ( likely join a tour which disbands at Hakone Yumoto Station or Odawara Station)
April 17 - Hakone to Tokyo

Would the JR Pass cover most of the routes to popular attractions locally? Will buying the Kansai or Kanto area pass be more cost-effective?
