Dear Sir / Madam,

  1. Is it anytime i want to taken JR train I need to make Reservation ?

  2. If Yes, How to do the reservation ? (website address)

  3. And the Reservation must done how many hour before ?

  4. i will travel at Japan from 10 Sep 2014 until 16 Sept 2014 Location is Hokkaido and Tokyo.
    I been notice the September is school holiday at Japan. Is it I can use Ordinary Pass to save Cost or Green Pass ?

  5. What is the difference between the ordinary Pass and Green Pass when i taken JR Trains.

  6. I purchase 14 days JR Pass and exchange at Hokkaido and Can I use it at Tokyo on balance few days I stay at Tokyo?

Kindly assist.

Hi there,

1.) All Green seats are reserved, meaning that you'll have to make a seat reservations before boarding the train. You can also take a non reserved seats, however these are only in ordinary class.

2.) Seat reservations can only be made in person at a JR station or travel centre. Here is how to go about it.

3.) Seat reservations can be made 30 days in advance or even 5 minutes before departure.

4.) I don't completely understand this question. Both options would be fine, however I would recommend Green Class as the Green Cars between Sapporo and Tokyo are very nice.

5.) Do you mean in price? They can be found here.

6.) The JR Pass can be used for both travel from Hokkaido to Tokyo as well as for travel within Tokyo on the JR Network.
