Hello me and my boyfriend are traveling to japan this May, we are starting in kumamoto and our next destinations are to osaka, nara, kyoto and finally tokyo. Do you recommend getting a Jr Pass or what would be better for us? thank you

Hi there,
Kumamoto is a great place to start, the castle is amazing and there are many local craft beer breweries worth checking out.
Since you are basically going one way Kumamoto - Tokyo, with many stops in between, it would be better to buy normal tickets as you travel.
