Resort Shirakami Joy train

We have six days to travel from Sapporo to Akita. What type of JR pass should we buy and we would like to use the pass on the Resort Shiritami joy train from Aomori to Akita. Our trip will be around 6 days. Thank you.

Hi there,

It would depend on the specific route you travel and how many days you would spend in each place. If you plan on going one way Sapporo - Akita, then you'd likely be fine just buying normal train tickets as these fares should not add up to much.

I suggest using our JR Fare Calculator, to get an estimate cost of your fares. Then see if any JR East pass or JR National pass costs less.
