I'm going to turn in the Exchange Order for JR pass on Dec 21 and start using the JR pass on Dec 28.
Can I reserve seats on Dec 21 for trains that I'm going to take on Dec 28?

Hi there,
Yes you may reserve seats the moment that you have exchanged the JR Pass, even if the first day of use is at a later point in time. So you can be secure of seating days in advance.
