Hi
Thank you for your
Help
We are an older couple 70+.
We will be in Japan for one week. We are from USA and arrive at Narita Sept12. around 2:45 pm. We want to take the NEX to Tokyo station. Then a cab to our hotel. We want to visit Nilko and Harkone areas for day trips.we will spend the rest of our time in the Tokyo. So we are looking for a regional rail pass. Either Tokyo wide or Jr east. The question is do we need a rail pass. If yes which pass do you recommend.
That said what itinerary can you suggest.
Thank you
Jim
Hi Jim,
For this trip, I do not think that any JR Pass would help you make savings. So, you may as well just get a Suica card and travel fast. This is an electronic payment method that is fast and easy but does not provide a discount.
Within Hakone you can look at using a Hakone Free Pass, and finally, for Narita Airport. Ask for a Narita Express discounted return ticket at the airport to get a nice bit of savings.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thank you
Do we use the suica card to get from Narita to Tokyo station?
When and where do we pick up Wi-Fi rental?
How do we get the suica card can we have the card put on our iPhone or is there a special place to get the card?
We arrive about 3PM
THANK YOU
Suica can be purchased at any JR station/ticket window. That includes Narita Airport and basically every other station.
For WiFi, see our Pick-up locations.
You can just download Suica as well direct to your Apple Wallet as well. Though a physical card is a bit faster in practise (as in when entering/exiting the station).
Thank you for making our visit easier
Jim
