Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka

Hi Daniel,

I clicked on your link for 7-day Itinerary for Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka. However, the title then said Tokyo-Kyoto-Nara. I did not see an itinerary for Osaka. We have just purchased our 7-day JR Pass. We also ordered pocket Wi-Fi's.

We arrive 4:25 pm Oct 29, would like to visit Kyoto (with a day trip to Nara), Osaka and Tokyo at the end since we fly in and out of Tokyo. Would you recommend we take the train immediately to Kyoto? Or is going to Osaka better? Would you recommend we do Tokyo at the end of our stay?

Is there somewhere on your forum, blog or website that talks of an Osaka Itinerary?

Hi Terese,

The order of Kyoto/Osaka does not really matter much, as they are both very close. Many visitors just book a hotel in one city and visit the other city as a day trip. It's only a 30min train ride.

We probably don't high light Osaka enough on the blog :) but we do have suggestions for it if you look at the 14 day or 21 day itinerary options on there. There are also many suggestions here on the forum (just do a search).

I do recommend staying a couple days in Tokyo near the end of your trip, this will give you some time to relax from travel and easy shopping around Tokyo.

I can also give you some suggestions if you let me know what kind of things you are interested in :)
