Reaching Mt. Koya from Hiroshima using jr pass

Hi there,

Unfortunately you can not use the JR-Pass to travel the whole way to Mount Koya but it will get you far!
From Hiroshima I would recommend using the Shinkansen to Osaka and from there take the Kintetsu line to mount Koya, this will cost ¥1210. Also see the Wiki travel page for the best way to access mount Koya.

From Mount Koya you can then take the train back to Osaka and use the JR-Pass to travel the rest of the way to Kyoto.

Thank you for your reply. The Shinkansen is covered in the jr-pass, so that will be good till Osaka.

Thanks to you I have looked up the day ticket available at the Osaka station and will purchase it there. So it will be easier to travel right till Koya -san.
