Hi There, we are doing a reasonable short trip to Japan but wanting to full our days up the best we can. We are looking at the following itinerary. Would you suggest the 7 day pass to get us from Tokyo-Kyoto-Hiroshima-Kyoto-Osaka then back to Tokyo in those 7 days, or use a local regional pass.
Not activiating the pass until we leave Tokyo and use individual train passes when arrive back in Tokyo?

The 7-day Nationwide JR Pass would be your best option. By activating the pass upon leaving Tokyo, you ensure coverage for all your major Shinkansen trips, which provides maximum convenience and value.
While in Tokyo, you can use an IC Card for local transport.
