We are residents of Australia and are going on a ski trip near Liyama Station and require one-way Shinkansen to Tokyo. (transfers from Narita to Madarao have already been reserved.
Within a seven day period we are also going to Tokyo - Hiroshima - Tokyo.
What is the best pass please?

Since your itinerary is contained within a 7-day period, it makes the most sense for you to purchase a 7-day JR Pass, mainly because of the round trip from Tokyo to Hiroshima and back - the price of this purchased separately justifies the purchase of the JR Pass as what is likely to be your most cost-effective option.
