plan to stay 4 nites at both kyoto and also at tokyo. whilst there, am wondering if day trips to
to kobe, is this feasible? how much wld the fare be return from kyoto?
to nikko, wld that also be feasible, and again what wld the train fare be?

Hi there!
You can certainly make a day trip to Kobe from Kyoto (¥ 1,050 / one way and about an hour away).
Nikko is also well suited for a day trip from Tokyo and a one way ticket with the Shinkansen is ¥ 5,430.
Both routes are covered by the JR Pass.
