We are thinking of spending 2 nights in the areas below.
1) However, after checking the fare calculator, will purchasing tickets separately be more worthwhile than the JR Pass?
2) Would you recommend 2 nights stay in each area?

Hi there,
Will you be arriving/departing out of Hokkaido only? Or also travel to/from Tokyo for example? If you just stay in Hokkaido, then a Hokkaido Rail Pass might be a better option.
Each are has enough to offer for a 2 night stay, at the same time you could also spend just one day in Noboribetsu and around lake Toya. I think it just comes down to your own preffered pacing.
