JR Pass or individual tickets?

Hello. I will be in Japan in July, and my itinerary is as follows. I was checking train fares and it seems that buying tickets individually might be cheaper than the JR Pass. Is that right?
15 Jul Arrival in Osaka
16 Jul Osaka
17 Jul Travel Osaka to Koyasan
18 Jul Travel Koyasan to Nara
19 Jul Travel Nara to Kyoto
20 Jul Kyoto
21 Jul Kyoto
22 Jul Kyoto
23 Jul Travel Kyoto to Kanazawa
24 Jul Travel Kanazawa to Takayama
25 Jul Travel Takayama to Tokyo
26 Jul Tokyo
27 Jul Tokyo

Hi there,

I would suggest purchasing your tickets individually, it seems to be more cost-effective. However, the JR Pass still covers all your itinerary, so if you feel that a pass is more suited to you it's still an option.

Thanks Alexis. Is it difficult to purchase the tickets individually? I cannot find a website to do it. Or is it done at the ticket machines at the station in Japan? Thanks again.

Hi there,

You can do it at the station, either at manned ticket offices or at ticket machines.
