My partner and I will have the following itinerary and are wondering what the most economical and best value JR Pass is to get?
Tokyo - 25/3 to 1/4
Kyoto - 1/4 - 6/4
Tokushima - 6/4 - 9/4
Osaka - 9/4 - 14/4
Hakone - 14/4 - 17/4
Tokyo 17/4 - 18/4

Let's have a look at ticket prices and find out:
Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,600
Kyoto - Tokushima ¥ 11,750
Tokushima - Osaka ¥ 11,750
Osaka - Hakone (Odawara station) ¥ 12,080
Odwara - Tokyo ¥ 3,740
Looking at JR Passes, the best option here would be a 14 day JR Pass form 1/4 - 14/4, this would allow you the cover all long distance travel from Tokyo - Kyoto ... Osaka - Hakone and you can make nice savings compared to purchasing normal train tickets.
