We are a family of four. We hope to spend one night in Tokyo and two in Kyoto travelling by fast train on a stopover.
It will cost us aound $1200 for a railpass. Can we doe it cheaper with individual tickets?

Hi there,
Are you flying into Narita airport?
If so the JR-Pass is the most economic option to travel with the Shinkansen (Bullet Trains) for the return between Tokyo and Kyoto, besides this it will also cover the train to and from the Airport and the local JR trains in Tokyo.
