Hello , traveling to Tokyo and then to Kyoto
I want to travel by bullet train on March 31st 2018
and return to Tokyo April 4th 2018
Is it cheaper to buy a round trip for 2 people , or buy a rail pass ?
We don't plan to travel any further than that just in city sight seeing
If its cheaper with just standard class round trips , for 2 people , where do I purchase these online ?
Hi there,
The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is roughly the same as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen. Even if you don't go much further afield, it can be worth considering one.
With the JR Pass you get 7 days of unlimited travel and even if you just use it for local travel around Kyoto, Tokyo and to the airport, it would still help you make savings.
