Konichiwa JRPass team,
My itinerary looks roughly like this:
11-12th Tokyo
12-14th Takayama (trip to Shirakawago)
14-18th Kyoto (1 day trip Hiroshima)
18-20th Hakone (trip to Mt Fuji possibly)
20-23 Tokyo
Would you recommend a 14 day JR pass, if not what is the best other option for travel between places?

I wouldn't recommend a 14-day pass for you as travel to Shirakawa-go is not directly covered by the JR Pass and your itinerary is relatively small meaning the cost wouldn't be worth it. My suggestion would be to purchase your tickets individually - to find a variety of routes and directions for travel between places I'd recommend using the 'Route' section of the Japan Travel website.
