Good morning,

The wife and I are flying into Misawa and would like to make our way to Tokyo ASAP. I tried looking to see if the question was posed previously, but to no avail. Using JR what is the best course of action? Mind you we have only purchased the regular JR Pass (not the first class) I appreciate all your help.

Hi there,

Misawa is quite remove. Using the JR Pass you can use the Shinkansen from the close by Hachinohe to Tokyo. However the question is whether this will be your only train travel. As a one way ticket costs less than the price of a JR Pass.

Greatly appreciate the prompt response. If you have any further advice for getting to Hachinohe from the airbase in Misawa it would be also appreciated. We will be using the JR Pass extensively (not just for this leg of the trip)
