Dear Daniel-san,

Good day!
May I check with you if my understanding is correct for this:
the Japan wide JR pass covers the Limited Express Hashidate from Kyoto Station to Fukuchiyama Station, and I would need to top up a fee for the remainder 3 stops from Fukuchiyama Station to Amanohashidate station.
Is this correct? Can you pls provide guidance on where we should pay for the top up journey - at Kyoto Station? Or do we need to get off at Fukuchiyama station to purchase ticket for the remaining journey to Amanohashidate?

Hi Ange,

Yes, this is correct.

You can basically pay the extra fare at any point of your journey. At Kyoto station when making the reservation, on board from the conductor, or even on arrival at the fare adjustment window.
