Limited express hashidate

Dear Daniel-san,

Good day!
May I check with you if my understanding is correct for this:
the Japan wide JR pass covers the Limited Express Hashidate from Kyoto Station to Fukuchiyama Station, and I would need to top up a fee for the remainder 3 stops from Fukuchiyama Station to Amanohashidate station.
Is this correct? Can you pls provide guidance on where we should pay for the top up journey - at Kyoto Station? Or do we need to get off at Fukuchiyama station to purchase ticket for the remaining journey to Amanohashidate?
