Getting refunds of tickets that were bought ahead of time for a train that is covered by the Japan Rail pass

Hello

I was wondering if I could get refunds of tickets (Minus the Handling fee) that I booked 30 days ahead of time for a train that is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass (Yufuin No Mori)

Process
1. Bought Limited Express Seat ticket only for two separate days for the Yufuin no Mori 30 days ahead of time using the JR Kyushu Ticketing site
2. I Arrive in Japan and I exchange my Voucher for the Japan Rail pass
3. I go to a station that deals with JR Kyushu tickets and show me my confirmations and Japan Rail pass
4. Hopefully get full refunds of the tickets and get the seat tickets transfered to my Japan Rail pass for no additional cost.

Is such a thing doable? Also note that I didn't buy the Base ticket fare because I am relying on the fact that the Japan Rail pass will cover that cost.

Hi there,

Yes, tickets can be refunded at any point before departure. Depending on the ticket, this may have to be done through your point of purchase.

Thank you. So theres a chance that my reservation might be swiped.. Would it be safer to have the Midori no Madoguchi be able to transfer the ticket?
