I would like to take three trips...but over 14 days...staying for a few days along the way. Must a 7 day pass be used on 7 consecutive days, or can it be stretched over a 14 day period?

Hi Greta,
The JR Pass currently is only available in periods of consecutive days. Depending on the trips that you are making a 7 day JR Pass could still be worth considering, for instance a return trip Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka would already pay for the pass.
