7 day JR Pass + 2 days in Tokyo best options?

Hello

I am in Japan for 9 days. The JR pass is valid for 7 days and 14

Since I am there for only 9 days, what is the best combination for the pass

I intend to take a 7 day pass which I will use for my travel to other cities Osaka etc...
Is this pass also valid on the Train Ride "Hakone-Yumoto to Gora (Upper Section)" ???

The 2 additional days I will be in Tokyo city travelling on local trains and may use it one from Narita Airport to City. What would the best Pass option for these 2 days

Hi there!

Here are some answers for you:

The JR Pass is only valid on JR trains. As the Hakone trains are all run by Odakyu, you will need to purchase separate tickets for Hakone lines. I recommend the Hakone Free Pass from Odawara (JR) for JR Pass holders.

About getting into Tokyo and your first 2 days in Japan, I think I would opt for the Tokyo Metro 2 day pass + Keisei skyliner deal into Tokyo from Narita. This will let you roam around Tokyo using the Metro as much as you wanted for the first 2 days of your trip in addition to getting you into the city at a discounted rate. Please note this fare is only available for purchase at Narita Airport and to tourists arriving from outside Japan.
