We are planning to travel from Tokyo, to Nagano on December 30, 2025, and from Nagano to Osaka on January 1, 2026. What is the cheapest ticketing / pass option for us to have reserved seats, and bring suitcases / luggage?

Hello there!
If you are doing a one way Tokyo - Nagano - Osaka? In that case, buying normal tickets will be the best option. Reservations can be made 1 month ahead of time.
In case you are doing a return on the above route, then you could use a Hokuriku Arch Pass.
