Can you advise me what the fasest way is from Osaka to the Eko-in temple in Koyasan? And from the temple to Kyoto? I'm planning to buy the Kansai wide area pass, maybe I can use this for this trip as well?

Hi Mirella,
Travel to Koya-san is not included, as the line going there is a private railway (Nankai line).
The fastest way is to get on the Nankai Express from Nankai Namba or Shin-Imamiya stations in Osaka.
